| Customer Reviews: Just what we needed! January 9, 2010 Eva Roberson This mattress is great for what we needed it for. We needed mattresses that could be used for the beds for our kids without needing to be too high, since they are still young.
Cons:
They definitely have a chemical (they call it "new foam") smell that needs to be aired out, and really it never actually goes away, but after a few days of having them in a room with a fan on and a door or window open, they were aired out enough that you can't smell it through the waterproof covers and the sheets we got for the beds.
They are much more firm than I was expecting, which is fine for us, since our kids still love them, and we don't have to worry about them sinking dangerously into them while they sleep.
Pros:
Not too expensive considering they are memory foam, esp. since we got free shipping to Hawaii!
They are very comfortable to sleep and lay on.
They don't require a box spring if you have enough support on your bed (flat board slats or platform bed vs bar slats that some beds use).
They are shorter than the average mattress, which is good for both keeping beds lower for younger kids, and also for using in bunk beds.
Overall, these were a great deal, and they are perfect for what we needed them for. Passed through shipping quickly and undamaged. Would buy from them again if we ever needed more of these for additional children.
smelly short mattress March 10, 2009 Mulan (U.S.A.) 10 out of 15 found this review helpful
First of all, it's 2 inches shorter than a regular full size mattress. It also has a strong foul chemical smell. I wonder if the smell is toxic. Will try to return it to Amazon
